Napocor employee killed for giving 'dagger looks'
MANILA, Philippines – A National Power Corporation (Napocor) employee was shot dead inside a jeepney in Iloilo City Monday afternoon.
Suspect John Erwin Palomero claimed he gunned down Napocor employee Rogelio Sabagala because the latter was giving him "dagger looks" while they were onboard a jeepney in Barangay Lapuz Sur.
The suspect also shot Sabagala’s companion and fellow Napocor employee, identified as Reynaldo Baja. He sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to the hospital.
Palomero was immediately arrested after the shooting. He used a licensed .45-caliber pistol with a silencer to kill Sabagala.
The jeepney driver, meanwhile, said Palomero looked like he was waiting for the victims, since he did not disembark from the jeepney even after reaching the end of the route.
The driver said Palomero and Sabagala were wrestling for the control of the gun. He said he did not hear the three exchanging heated words before the shooting.
