Ocean Kayak Prowler Trident 13
As I would search the other forums, prior to starting YakAngler.com, I was amazed with all the guys that were so creative when rigging their Ocean Kayaks. Jim Sammons and Kayak Kevin were also influencers, sharing with me their enthusiasm for Ocean Kayak.
So I purchased my Ocean Kayak Trident 13 (T13) from the local Bass Pro Shop in January following a bonus check that I had received from work.
Being that there was snow on the ground, and I don’t have a garage, my wife was kind enough to let me park it in the living room so that I could do a few basic modifications to it. Right off the bat I installed a Humming bird fish finder and a no-drill anchor trolley .
I’ve fished out of the T13 for almost 2 years now and here are my opinions of this boat:

I think that this kayak is very well thought out for the kayak angler. Everything from the battery bag, rod pod, recessed scupper hole for the hummingbird transducer, and Sonar shield.

Back by popular demand the Scupper Pro TW represents what sit on top SOT kayaks were before they were fisherized. At 15 feet long and a respectable 26" wide this boat retains some of the glide you find in closed decked kayaks. For that reason it tends to be a bit faster than many of the new wide and stable platforms that are on the market today. This morning I was heading out with the Wednesday morning group from our docks at Aqua Adventures and figured I'd draw from the bag until I got a sea kayak that would allow me to keep up. The first draw gave me the Scupper Pro and although it is a SOT I knew it would be just fine.
I did have to work a bit harder than I would have in a equal length decked boat but I did keep up. One thing to expect from the Scupper Pro is the potential for a wet butt. The seat is set very low in the boat which is what helps it feel more stable but because of that water...
