Live on the Edge of Your Seat at Banff Films' Tour Stop

KETCHUM • You can experience the horror of getting buried in an avalanche — without leaving your armchair — in Cory Richard’s new flick “Cold.”

The movie, which follows the Boulder, Colo.-based climber as he and two others ascend a 26,362-foot Himalayan peak, was the grand prize winner at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and will be shown here as part of the Banff Mountain Film Festival on Tour on Feb. 4.

“This film is incredibly intense, puts a person on the edge of their seat and really delivers. It is a great story, and I am thrilled that Cory Richard left his camera on,” said Michael Boge, who has brought the world tour to Ketchum for the past 12 years.

The Banff festival will come to Ketchum on Feb. 3-4 at the nexStage Theatre, 120 S. Main St. Doors open at 6 p.m., the programs start at 6:30 and the films at 7. A different lineup of films will show each night.

Each evening’s tickets are $13 in advance at The Elephant’s Perch, Backwoods Mountain Sports and Chapter One Bookstore in Ketchum, or $15 at the door.
