A Heaping Holiday Helpful of GOOD STUFF

Is using the holiday shopping season as an excuse to publish reviews of all kinds of GOOD STUFF we've played with since the summer trade shows. We won't tell you to put any of this gear on your wish list - that's up to you - but it's all earned our seal of approval through the best test of all, time on the water. That goes double for the pricier equipment. Times are tough, and money is tight for many - another reason to fish from a kayak. 

Here's the schedule, subject to change of course. 

Monday November 14: Practically made for kayak fishing, the Pentax WG-1 waterproof camera. 

Tuesday November 15: The Eco Extreme, an armored, waterproof, floating catch-all for keys, small wallets and fishing licenses. It can also blare out the tunes.

The only advice I can give you is that IF you do wear waders.. Please do a test run in the safety of a "cold" pool with someone around you that is capable of hauling your now 'potentially' heavy waterloaded wader ass out of the pool or to the shallow end.. Or better yet put ur Yak in the pool and try to re-enter with your waders full of water it's usually 5 attempts and your likely spent.. hey mytmouse i think you'll be fine with waders and dry top combo as long you have your PFD on.I actually took the wader/dry top to the test in my friends pool with and without the wader belt but with a PFD,More water without the belt but didn't get flooded, i noticed when swimming back and forth that pressure in the water created a vacume like situation onto my body which kept most of the h2o out.BUT IF u can afford a dry suit get one I use both, dry suit for cold and rough conditions.
