a Great buy
We needed a cheap way to get into kayaking and found this kayak on Amazon. If cheap and easy is what you are after this is the way ahead. We got it to the lake and had it inflated in minutes with a coleman quick pump(which is not that good). I also purchased a skeg and some ali paddles. Minutes... -
Not Bad at All
I was thinking of buying a kayak just to get out on the water, and maybe for fishing. I live in an apartment in the city, however, and have no place to keep a hardside boat unless I consider it furniture. When I read about inflatable kayaks I was interested, but skeptical. I checked around, and...

Reel Time trivia winner hails from Seattle

Congratulations to Andrew Gendaszek of Seattle who is this week's Reel Time Trivia winner, and answered first by saying it was "Lake Sawyer."
"I grew up fishing on the Jersey shore for bluefish, weakfish, and flounder, but stopped fishing until I moved out to Seattle years later," Gendaszek said." I like to head out to Eastern Washington to fly fish for trout and bass in the Seep Lakes, and bring my rod hiking to alpine lakes in the Cascades."
Gendaszek says, "nothing beats salmon fishing from a kayak in Puget Sound especially when you catch something big enough to tow you around."
The picture is Gendaszek with a sockeye from one of his favorite fishing adventures near Yakutat, Alaska.
"A friend and I spent a few days floating the length of the Situk River from Situk Lake down to the ocean subsisting on almost nothing but sockeye along the way," he said.
PAINLESS KAYAK FISHING: Do You Have Compulsive Kayak Fishing ...
The only problem is that for many people kayak fishing leads to unwanted physical results, such as fatigue, leg numbness, leg pain, butt pain and back pain (yak-back). Spending too much time fishing from a sit-in or SOT kayak, or paddling such kayaks, can result in acute and prolonged pain, and in extreme cases even in back injuries. These symptoms increase with age and weight, and less-than-perfect physical shape. The key is to be able to operate the kayak from a different position, and preferably from several positions that can be alternated at will, so when you spend long hours in the kayak, you're able to relieve stress and tension from your back and your legs by changing positions anytime you feel like it - Stand up, stretch, etc., and such are the new, patented Wavewalk fishing kayaks

Dimly I was aware the fishing rod extended over the side of the kayak was a pretty fair lever. And not only was I pulling on the shark, it was pulling on me! I wrapped my legs around the bottom of the kayak as the tension continued to mount.
